Local Government CPD event 2014
Following on from the success of our previous CPD events, we have just hosted our 5th annual CPD event at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.
The course provided the attendees with the opportunity to gain two unaccredited CPD points by attending talks within the areas of Childcare and Adult Social Services. This particular event boasted the greatest number of delegates that we have seen at any of our previous CPD courses thus far, and was a great opportunity for everyone involved to network and catch up with old friends and colleagues. The two attending speakers were Anuara Ali Senior Lawyer at the London Borough of Islington and Kam Singh Practice Lead & Team Manager, Social Care and Education at the South London Legal Partnership.
Anuara provided an informative talk on The Care Act 2014 and the implications of this piece of legislation for both Childcare and Adult Lawyers working in Local Government. Kam covered the intricacies of the New Statement Template that was issued at the end of July 2014 by ADCS and Cafcass. The New Statement Template brought much debate from the delegates and was a great open forum for all those involved in the course. One attendee mentioned that they found the course to be “excellent”, going on to say it provided a “detailed analysis of forthcoming provisions with clarity and provision”. Another attendee mentioned that the course was “very informative” and the “speakers were eloquent and were able to put across the information really well within the time provided”.
The course was incredibly well received and we would again like to thank the speakers for their time in making it such an informative event for all who attended.
