Solicitor

A non-departmental public body which supports a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections. They are currently looking for an experienced Lawyer to join their legal team to manage and advise on a range of matters, including grants, capital projects, securities and property.

The role will cover a wide remit of commercial property legal work as well as managing the Councils property portfolio. The Lawyer will ensure the Council complies with all relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks, draft and negotiate documents and materials, advise on legal risk as well as manage the relationships between internal clients and external solicitors. The role will also involve overseeing multiple projects which receive funding through the council as well as liaising with other relevant public bodies.

Lawyers with several years’ qualified legal experience in commercial property, either from private practice or in-house, is highly desirable, as is prior experience of grants, capital projects and/or securities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as attention to detail and good drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to grasp new legal concepts, are essential for this role.
