Planning Lawyer

A well-managed London local authority council is seeking an interim Planning Lawyer set to last until August in the first instance – with a high possibility of being extended until November.

While working alongside the principal planning and contracts solicitor along with the wider team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and negotiating (simple to medium) s106 agreements
  • Drafting s38 and s278 agreements and highways licences
  • Advising on enforcement matters
  • Advising on all aspects of planning and highway law matters
  • Updating client officers (Heads of Service, Deputy Directors and Directors) on new legislation, case law, and developments impacting planning and highway law
  • Assisting with Officer Reports – checking, amending, revising, providing legal comments, and clearing.

This role offers remote/hybrid working, with 1 day a week in the office.  If you have 3 years and upwards working in planning and highways and are looking for a client facing role within a highly organised and supportive local authority council, we would love to hear from you. Candidates with less experience will also be considered.

Get in touch without delay if this is of interest by emailing your cv to tdada@lawabsolute.com

Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However, we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.

At LAW Absolute we endeavour to respond to all applications within 48 hours. However due to the volume of applications we receive we may not be able to respond to every candidate individually.

If you have not heard from us within a 48 hour timeframe your application has not been successful and your details have not been retained. LAW Absolute acts as an employment business for temporary recruitment and as an employment agency for fixed term contract and permanent recruitment.
