A local authority is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join the legal team on a full-time basis for an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity for an employment lawyer with either a public sector or private practice background to undertake a varied and interesting caseload, supporting a busy in-house legal service.
The Role
You will handle a broad range of employment law matters, including:
- Employment Tribunal claims
- Advising on disciplinary and grievance matters
- Redundancy and restructuring projects
- TUPE and workforce-related issues
- General employment law advisory work
- Supporting HR and senior management on complex employment matters
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with employment law experience
- Proven ability to manage a varied employment caseload with minimal supervision
- Local government experience is desirable but not essential
- Candidates from both private practice and public sector backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Available to start at short notice
Working Arrangements
- Full-time position
- Initial 3-month assignment
- Hybrid working- office attendance required at least 3 days per week
