LAW Absolute is recruiting on an exclusive basis to a permanent Commercial Property Lawyer position with Southwark Council. This is a part-time role, 3 days per week.

The council operate a hybrid working policy. Full- time staff work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

The role offers a salary of £44,691-£51,783. There is also a market factor payment of 5% in addition to the annual salary applicable, and a hard to fill benefit payment of £2,327 per annum that can be redeemed against gym membership, health insurance, season ticket purchase, bicycle purchase, additional voluntary contribution to pension, subscription, and professional fees.

About the position
The successful Commercial Property Lawyer will have a varied caseload to include but not limited to:
- Leases,
- Licences,
- Deeds of variation,
- Deeds of surrender,
- Rent reviews,
- Acquisitions,
- Property disposals usually by way of auction,
- Assisting with the preparation of Compulsory Purchase Orders and,
- Acting on behalf of the council as landowner concerning the grant of easements and covenants.
You will have exposure to some complex matters and the ability to pick up a full and varied caseload from the outset is essential.
About you
You will be an admitted Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX of England and Wales with a current practising certificate. Foreign qualified candidates with the requisite UK experience, and right to work without sponsorship are encouraged to apply.
You will possess a minimum of 3 years post admission experience.
You will be a team player, able to work autonomously, generous in sharing your knowledge, have a can-do attitude and be open to rolling your sleeves up and helping the team.
As this is a part- time role 3 days per week, apart from Wednesday which is a compulsory office day there is flexibility around working days.
