Our client, a local authority based in London is seeking a Prosecutions Lawyer for three months initially.
The successful Prosecutions Lawyer must have experience covering the full range of enforcement matters and non- routine criminal proceedings that arise within the public sector such as benefit fraud, health & safety and food safety. Our client will be expecting the successful candidate to take over an existing caseload.
The Prosecutions Lawyer will be required to:
• have conduct of magistrate’s court cases including advocacy.
• Provide telephone and written advice to clients on general enforcement issues.
• Support casework in Legal Services where there is multi-disciplinary working.
- Advise on licensing issues
• Demonstrate advocacy experience in order to undertake prosecutions and deal with other appropriate applications.
In order to be considered for the role, you will need current experience in the areas mentioned above. Previous local authority experience would be advantageous.
You must be a Solicitor or Barrister with relevant PQE and hold a current Practising Certificate.
