Head of Legal Protection
|Location:||London Central, London|
|Pay Details:||£40,000.00- £45,000.00|
Our specialist charity client is seeking a lawyer with significant experience in asylum and human rights law. They are looking for someone to join the team on a permanent basis as Head of Legal Protection.
This is a small team which undertakes high quality, specialised work. The role will involve overseeing the Legal Protection team, reviewing Medico-Legal reports through working closely with the clinical team and managing client matters in relation to asylum (including trafficking and slavery) as well as related housing, benefit and safety matters. The ideal candidate will have built up a wealth of experience in these areas and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding and previous application of relevant legislation and case-law. You will need to have been “on the record” at asylum First-Tier Tribunals and be familiar with these processes and timeframes through to Upper Tribunal and the whole appeals process. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to cover housing, benefits and welfare law issues as part of a multi-disciplinary service, although previous experience in these areas is not essential. There is also the opportunity to be involved at a higher level in terms of influencing policy and in judicial review on an external basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly-regarded, dedicated charity producing high quality work in a much-needed area.
If you have demonstrable and relevant experience in asylum and human rights law and are looking for a new challenge, please email your CV to Lydia at email@example.com in the first instance.
The deadline for applications is 28th July. Later submissions may still be considered, although you are strongly advised to apply before this date.
At LAW Absolute we endeavour to respond to all applications within 48 hours. However due to the volume of applications we receive we may not be able to respond to every candidate individually. If you have not heard from us within a 48 hour timeframe your application has not been successful and your details have not been retained.
