Wood Group create chief compliance role for new hire
12th July 2012
Elaine Mays, the Legal and Compliance Director for Europe at multinational oilfield service company Baker Hughes, is to switch allegiances after being hired to take on a new role at the Wood Group.
The expanding oil and gas giants, who are based in the Scottish city of Aberdeen, have created the job of Chief Compliance Officer specifically for Mays, who explained that she found her previous position rewarding but was ready for a new challenge.
It comes as no surprise that the ethics and compliance expert was the focus of Wood Group’s latest legal recruitment search, having built a strong reputation for herself since first becoming an in-house lawyer as Senior Legal Adviser at Technip Offshore a decade ago.
Mays was born in Aberdeen and has said that she is looking forward to relocating to her hometown after a lengthy spell working in London; her role will officially begin on the 24th July.
