Slaughters secures highest retention of lawyer jobs
11th March 2014
Leading international law firm Slaughter and May has secured the highest retention rate of its Magic Circle peers for its spring qualifiers. Keeping on 95 percent of its 2014 spring trainees, equating to 38 out of 40 possible candidates, Slaughter and May have increased their retention rate from the same time last year.
The two trainees who have not stayed on at the firm did not apply for a lawyer job there, otherwise, the firm could have come away with a record 100 percent intake. The firm’s graduate recruitment partner said of the news in this article, “We are delighted that our retention rate continues to be very high - our recruitment has always been focused on long-term retention and career development”.
Slaughter and May were the last firm of the UK top ten to release their spring retention figures and have proven to be the highest qualifier retainers out of the 21 firms to have done so, with a total of 414 qualifiers going on to secure jobs at their chosen firm out of the 483 trainees who had started.
