Pinsent Masons to boost its female staff
3rd March 2014
London-based law firm Pinsent Masons is planning to significantly increase its female presence, with a target of 25 percent partnership by the year 2018 being set. The firm is looking to vastly improve on its gender diversity, with a future goal of a 30 percent female partnership also being announced.
In order to boost its female legal recruitment in London, the firm is planning to boost access to flexible working, make changes to its parental leave protocol and organise gender training under its new ‘project sky’ initiative led by employment partner Linda Jones. The new actions to improve its female partner numbers are appropriate, considering that 70 percent of the lawyers coming into the business are women, according to this article.
Jones started to realise that an increasing number of women were coming into the firm but that few were being made partners, and she is now looking to resolve this issue within the company by making changes to a number of its policies and encouraging more honest conversations about gender in the workplace.
