Northern Irish practice helps bus firm secure landmark contract
2nd October 2012
The Northern Irish bus manufacturers Wrightbus have secured a landmark contract worth millions of pounds which gives them the right to supply Transport for London (TfL) with 600 brand new buses.
The deal could only have been completed with the help and counsel of one of the country’s leading private practices, whose corporate and commercial lawyers with the most important solicitor jobs in the firm were pleased to have had such an important hand in the deal. It’s the first time in half a century that a company from outside of the mainland UK has gained permission to design a new bus for use by TfL.
Wrightbus, a manufacturing subsidiary of Wright Group, are now seen as leading the way in terms of Northern Ireland’s growing ambition to export more of their quality products around the world, with their fuel efficient vehicles set to decrease the capital’s carbon dioxide emissions by 20,600 tonnes annually once the whole fleet is in use by 2016.
