London’s best bars for business drinks

27th November 2017

No matter if you are looking to entertain clients, chat with colleagues, or finalise a deal; London is full of fantastic bars at which to enjoy a drink or two. There really is something in this city for all occasions, and many of us know that the office isn’t the only (or sometimes even the best) place to do a little business. With that in mind, we’ve put together a selection of spots to visit – collection of London’s best bars for business drinks.

The Nightjar

Opening its doors in 2010, The Nightjar has quickly become one of the most sought after bars around and as such is one terrific spot to woo over that potential client or impress business partners. This low-lit venue on City Road provides a comfortable but vibrant environment for those in attendance, offering great cocktails and live music (mostly jazz) as the night goes on.

“Nightjar in Shoreditch is conceived as an antidote to overcrowded West End bars and flashy nightclubs,” the team at Nightjar told us. “As a destination for discerning drinkers to meet, linger and relax, The Nightjar entices with quality cocktails, attentive personal service, a vibrant and varied live music programme, and late music nights on the decks.

“This is the ultimate speakeasy bar of London - descend the stairs and be prepared to be enchanted by a 1920's scene of candlelit tables, glorious tin cup cocktails, and crooning jazz and swing bands sound-tracking your evening. It is seating only at The Nightjar, so make a booking and soak up the magical atmosphere of this jazz and cocktail heaven. There is no other London, let alone Shoreditch bar, like this.”

Nightjar is certainly a classy affair, and for those special occasions and when your business really wants to push the boat out, it’s a reservation more than worth making.

Joe’s Southern Table and Bar

Joe's Southern Table and Bar

Cocktail Baby, the downstairs bar at Joe’s Southern Table and Bar on King Street, is certainly a wonderful spot to meet at for drinks with its relaxed atmosphere, comfy seating, and of course top class refreshments. Whether looking after a visiting client or having a relaxing drink after work – much needed for lawyers with jobs in London – these guys has you covered.

We asked Joe’s Southern why they believe that they and Cocktail Baby are such a popular spot for business drinks in London:

“Joe’s Southern Table and Bar and downstairs bar Cocktail Baby is a fantastic spot for business drinks as its prime location on 34 King Street lends itself perfectly as a central meeting point for workers in the capital. We have an excellent selection of drinks, from our signature bourbon whiskeys, fun, heady cocktails, to sharers and American beers with Happy Hours throughout the week.

“And where you sip, you can always grab a bite to eat too, with bar snacks from our Southern menu available both upstairs in the restaurant bar and downstairs in Cocktail Baby. Overall, our relaxed, laid-back atmosphere across three levels of dining space and the sought-after booths by the window, have become extremely popular for work meetings and lunches.”

To whet the appetite, we also asked Joe’s Southern to breakdown their fun and exciting drinks menu:

“Our drinks menu reflects our love for Southern hospitality, rich American history and our feel-good vibe. Guests can discover authentic Deep South classics with a section dedicated to original flavours, classic twists and margaritas – expect high-quality whiskey, rum and a fantastic mix of flavours!

“For those looking to share, our creative and fun ‘Sharers’ inspired by notable names in USA history such as the Honey Roosevelt and Cherry Lincoln are always a great choice and their presentation will certainly excite. Sweet treats are never far at Joe’s and earlier this year we launched Bourbon Freakshakes, pairing our love for heavenly Southern desserts with our love for quality bourbon whiskey. We’ve also taste-tested all our drinks to make sure they’re a match made in heaven with our Deep South menu; nothing beats fried chicken, Mac’N’Cheese and ribs with a glass of whiskey or refreshing cocktail!”
