LinkedIn in-house counsel job switch
23rd July 2014
LinkedIn has seen a reshuffle of their in-house counsel roles as they hire former Yahoo general counsel Michael Callahan to head up their legal function. Callahan is due to start in his new role at the professional social networking site later this month and will be reporting to the company’s CEO Jeff Weiner.
Callahan comes to his general counsel in-house counsel job at LinkedIn from online real estate agent Auction.com, where he worked in the position of executive vice president and, prior to that, held the position of executive vice president, general counsel and secretary at Yahoo, where he stayed for 13 years.
Callahan is set to take over from legal chief Erika Rottenberg at LinkedIn, who announced her exit in April earlier this year, according to this article. Having worked in the role of legal chief since 2008 and having overseen the site’s IPO in 2011, her success will lead to many keeping an eye on how Callahan takes to his new role.
