Jones Day hires BLP restructuring head

Berwin Leighton Paisner head of restructuring Ben Larkin has left the firm for the same position at Jones Day’s restructuring practice in London. Larkin leaves BLP after 12 years at the firm, having been made partner in 2002.
The international law firm has filled a number of London legal jobs with former BLP employees with the hire of Raymond McKeeve and Michael Weir, both having joined Jones Day last year entering into private equity specialist roles. Larkin comes with experience in corporate restructuring, turnaround and insolvency matters and real estate restructurings.
Jones Day have said that Larkin’s hire comes as the firm look to continue to improve on their practice, developing their London office to match that of their offering in the US. The news comes as the firm look to hire at associate level to boost their restructuring influence, as they continue to focus on this aspect of their practice.
