Hogan Lovells recruits for new Joburg centre
4th February 2014
December will see the major international firm Hogan Lovells launch a South African business services centre in Johannesburg, following a merger with South African practice Routledge Modise. The new service is due to be set up in collaboration with the firm’s South African partners and could see the recruitment of 20 new roles in the initial phase.
A major contributing factor to Hogan Lovell’s focus on South Africa is said to be the ‘excellent supply of talented people’ through law recruitment in business services available in Johannesburg.
The UK/US-based firm has stated that, while they feel it is important to retain the business services they already provide close to their existing lawyers, there are still a number of positions they can outsource to such places as South Africa.
The chief operating officer for Hogan Lovells, Nick Cray, said of the move in this article, “We will initially start with a small number of roles which we will then increase over a period of time as our experience develops”.
