First general counsel appointed at CapQuest
18th April 2012
The CapQuest Group debt management company has announced that Bill Flynn, who was chief compliance officer at GE Capital, has been appointed as their first general counsel.
Flynn has held a number of senior lawyer jobs in his career to date, previously serving as legal director at Zurich Financial Services and then switching to the financial unit of General Electric. He was general counsel of the Money Home Lending division whilst at GE Capital, before moving onto his most recent post.
In his new role, Flynn will report to group CEO Mark Bunnault on matters concerning corporate risk management, company secretarial duties, commercial agreements, legal services and regulatory affairs.
The appointment is seen as an indication of the growing viability of CapQuest as a major business, as well as its ambition to move into new, unexplored sectors. Having been established over 25 years ago, the group now manages £2.5bn worth of debt.
