First female corporate head for Linklaters
1st May 2014
Multinational law firm Linklaters has appointed its first ever female London corporate head. Sarah Wiggins, who took up the post officially on the 1st May, has been a partner at the leading London firm since 2000.
The promotion follows a restructuring of the firm’s international board last month, which saw two roles awarded to female partners as Linklaters is named a Top 50 employer for women in the UK by The Times and Opportunity Now. This news will be acknowledged by top legal recruitment agencies in London where women may be further encouraged to apply for the top legal roles in the City.
As more and more firms are looking to improve their gender balance in partnerships and top board roles, this latest news of Wiggins’ appointment acts as a step in the right direction, with both CMS Cameron McKenna and Herbert Smith Freehills making similarly significant female promotions according to this latest article.
