Firms battle for Unilever legal panel
4th April 2014
Firms have embarked on the battle to be considered for consumer goods giant Unilever’s first ever legal panel. As a part of a review of their legal advisors, Unilever has invited firms to tender for a place on a new legal panel.
The review looks to illustrate company’s existing relationships with its current legal advisors, where Slaughter and May has been considered their main advisor, as firms look to battle for the prestigious legal recruitment job on their panel.
Alongside Slaughter and May, Linklaters has secured several significant mandates for Unilever in recent years, according to this article, suggesting that they will also be serious contenders in the review.
Mayer Brown and Baker & McKenzie are also known to have strong ties to Unilever as they have taken charge of such legal issues surrounding the sale of its Peperami salami sticks to US company Jack Link’s and the outsourcing of a large proportion of its intellectual property.
