AA looks to go down ABS route
4th October 2012
Leading British motoring organisation the AA has announced that it is taking steps to move towards an Alternative Business Structure (ABS) model, following on from the same decision being made by its partners, Saga.
A spokesperson from the Automobile Association confirmed that it had begun calling on experts with solicitor jobs in London to advise them on the process, with the plan being to offer comprehensive legal representation to all of its customers, including property and employment services, whilst all the while keeping its main emphasis on car and home insurance.
The spokesperson went on to say that the company currently has no set timeframe for completion of the conversion, indicating that there is no particular rush for this to be done, as a number of well received legal documents compiled by financial services giant Parabis are already hosted on the AA’s website.
Saga have already started working as an ABS, recently launching a dedicated legal services arm aimed to provide a range of assistance to its over-50s customer base of almost three million.
