A new face for Genus company secretary job

Global animal genetics company Genus PLC, has hired its new general counsel and company secretary, seeing native Australian lawyer Dan Hartley as the face of the roles. His position started with effect of the 9th June earlier this month and will see him responsible for many of the company’s legal decisions.
Genus is a British-based business that use biotechnology to produce products for pig and cattle farmers. Having been admitted to practice law in Australia, Hartley has since gone on to work for many leading firms before moving in-house and taking on one of the most high profile company secretary jobs in the biotechnology field.
Hartley’s previous experience includes working for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in the UK as well as working with Allens Arthur Ribinson and Anderson Legal on biotech patent litigation, highlighting his relevancy to the new role. Karim Bitar, CEO at Genus, said of the appointment in this article, “We are delighted that Dan has chosen to join Genus… he brings a broad scientific background and international experience”.
