Public Sector

In recent years legal recruitment into the Public Sector has increased in volume and spectrum dramatically.

Local Authority clients have been using consultancies to recruit their temporary and contract lawyers for many years but it is only in the last few years that there has been a significant uplift in the number of clients from other public sector bodies, such as central government departments and charities recruiting contract and special project lawyers.

The Public Sector is now a sought after place in which to work for lawyers, not least because assignments tend to be extended again and again. Lawyers with public sector skills are in high demand, with demand outweighing supply, so once you have finished one assignment it is generally the easy and quick to secure another role.
