Childcare CPD Event hosted with the LB Islington!
Childcare CPD Events
Following on from the great success of our annual Childcare CPD event, the Local Government team were delighted to be asked to work in partnership with the London Borough of Islington in hosting a Childcare Advocacy course.
The course held at Islington Town Hall provided local government lawyers with 5 CPD points and the opportunity to not only improve their advocacy skills on a one on one basis, but also as part of a seminar whereby all attendees could provide their experiences and share ideas. Caroline Bryant an experienced childcare and criminal barrister who has previously worked as an advocate at Essex CC provided the training and feedback for the day was extremely positive. Attendees reported that they found the course to be “Informative and very helpful. The speaker presented the subject very well- it was very interesting” and “Found the training effective/clear/concise. Very informative and I liked the practical exercises and feel I can take what I’ve learnt to assist my advocacy skills.”
As the demand for the event was so high and the feedback extremely positive, Caroline Bryant agreed to provide a further course in December which we will be hosting alongside the council. We hope the successes of these events will result in many more such courses taking place in 2014.
