Need to recruit a temporary or contract lawyer?

Why Recruit a Temporary Lawyer

"Temp", "Contract", "Locum", "Special Project Lawyer" are some of the interchangeable terms for Lawyers working on a temporary basis. The list of reasons why people recruit them is even longer.

Predominantly Temporary Lawyers are taken on to help manage a particular workload - be it for a special project or deal or because they are waiting for a new permanent employee to start. For example, for a major piece of litigation, we would be able to provide both Lawyers and Paralegals to work on the case, thereby removing the necessity for you to take a large team of people away from their other work.

Alternatively there might just be an upturn in work that does not yet warrant a new permanent position. We also assist a lot of clients with situations whose organisations are impeded by headcount freeze - they cannot recruit permanent staff, but temporary headcount is allowed!

In addition to special projects, we place temporary lawyers for maternity, holiday and long-term sick cover.

Finally, a high percentage of temporary candidates are subsequently offered permanent positions with the organisation they join. This is often a benefit to both parties as each is able to test out the other in order to ensure a good match. This is becoming a more standard approach to many organisation's contingent recruitment plans.
