CPD Event - July 17th 2009On July 17th 2009, LAW Absolute hosted a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event at the Grosvenor Hotel in London. The subject area was Public Childcare Law. 72 delegates attended the event in order to hear presentations which were delivered by two prominent and well respected Childcare lawyers. Uma Mehta, the Chief Community Lawyer from the London Borough of Islington, lectured on the Public Law Outline and its wider implications. Fiona Alderman, Principal Lawyer of Social Services and Education for the London Borough of Brent, spoke on adoption matters. This event was available to the clients and candidates of LAW Absolute as well as their colleagues and friends who are required to do CPD. The principle of CPD is a continued learning process that complements formal academic and pre-qualification training and improves practice standards. LAW Absolute was delighted to be able to facilitate this event. Below are a few quotes from delegates: “This course was extremely helpful. It was informative and the speakers were clear and coherent, thank you for organising” “Very successful first CPD event - thank you” “Was great to have a refresher and update” “Excellent course which was very informative with ‘real’ information and guidance, great presenters and well organised” “Excellent speakers with interesting and relevant topics. The seminar was very well organised and the venue was good” In light of the success of this event, LAW Absolute looks forward to organising another CPD event in 2010.
